Reading minutes are checked weekly. This is a weekly reading grade. Make sure you are logging those minutes every day!

Bear Binders

Check your child's binder daily for important information.
Keep reading logs up to date.

Home and School Connection

At home projects: Students will complete an at home project during August, October, November, February, and May. Please be looking for this information in your child's BEAR binder during th month a project should be coming home. Parent assistance is required for these projects.

Allow your child to help create a grocery list and then assist you with shopping by being responsible for the list.
The only way to become a better reader is to read. Ask your child questions about what he or she is reading. Who, What, When, Where, and Why questions are always good. Have them sequence the story for you. What happened first, second, third, etc.
Do you really know your child??? This is a great way to find out what is going on at school and other places. Journal with your child. This will help him or her with grammar. Give your child a journal. For about 10 minutes a day before he or she goes to bed let them write to you about their day. You can then take five minutes to respond to what he or she has written.
Make math fact flash cards. Time tests will begin soon. See your child's teacher with any questions you may have.
